The iconic steam icebreaker is one of the highlights of a Hamburg visit today. This wonderful model shows STETTIN in her current state as a museum ship.
Stettin was commissioned in 1933 as the largest German icebreaker. Her operation area was the river Oder and the Szczecin Lagoon. After the war Stettin was stationed in Hamburg. She was in service until 1981 and in 1982 she was acknowledged as a technical cultural monument. Since then the association “Förderverein Eisbrecher Stettin e.V.” takes care of her and keeps her running.
The model highlights:
- detailed winches with an easy alternive version
- accurate dinghies
- Including interior of the bridge
- filigree davits
- trail hook with mount
- banks and bar for passengers
- detailed masts and rigging
