This typical Renaissance castle is located in the Czech Republic near Ostrava in the village of the same name. The name Bruneswerde traces back to the owner of the village, Bishop Bruno of Schauenburg, who resided here in the 13th century. The castle was mentioned for the first time in the year 1551. From 1565 to 1575, the castle was built in its current form after the original structure fell victim to a fire.
