The Udet U12 Flamingo was a German sports aircraft developed in the 1920s by the Udet Flugzeugbau company, founded by famous aviator Ernst Udet. Introduced in 1925, it was primarily designed for civilian use, featuring a high-wing monoplane configuration with a distinctive gull wing design. The Flamingo was renowned for its elegant appearance, excellent handling characteristics, and versatility in various roles including training, touring, and aerobatics. Powered by a reliable engine, it offered a comfortable flying experience for its occupants. Despite its commercial success, relatively few Flamingos were produced, and today, it remains a notable and cherished aircraft in aviation history.
