Size (LxWxH): 715x14x18 mm (28x0x0 inch)
Railway in 1/250 scale! This passenger train from the fifties is for itself already a complete and interesting model. It also is a great addition to a diorama with other HMV models.
The steam locomotives of class 23 were passenger train locomotives, but also used as light express trains. From 1950 to 1959 the Deutsche Bundesbahn put 105 locomotives of class 23 into operation.
The Class 23 was newly-designed with a high thermodynamic efficiency. The mechanical design was state of the technology of the 1950th.. Boilers frames and tenders were completely welded and there exists a central lubrication of the least accessible bearings. Also the ergonomics were improved for the operating personnel. For example the floor tile in the driver´s cabin was spring mounted and heatable.
Locomotive number 23 105 was the last steam engine put into operation by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Aftermath the more economic diesel and electric locomotives were aquired.
The model highlights:
- detailed valve gear
- separate undercarriages for all waggons
- 6 waggons included
